WorkReads (“WorkReads”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) is a professional reading intelligence application designed to help professionals access ranked and distilled business insights.

A. Account & Authentication

WorkReads allows users to create an account using:

Email address and password

Sign in with Google

Sign in with Apple (iOS only)

When you create an account, we may receive:

Name (if provided by the authentication provider)

If you use Apple’s private relay feature, your email address may be anonymized.

Passwords are securely processed through our authentication provider and are not stored in plain text by WorkReads.

B. Profile Information

To personalize your intelligence stream, you may optionally provide:

Professional role

Organization

Country

This information is used solely to improve content relevance and ranking accuracy.

C. Interaction & Usage Signals

To power personalization and ranking, WorkReads stores:

Swipe left (skip) signals

Swipe right (save) signals

Swipe-up opens

Saves and ratings

Follows

Time spent reading or viewing content

Reading activity patterns

Private notes created within the app

These signals are linked to your account and are used only to:

Refine relevance scoring

Improve ranking models

Enhance overall system performance

WorkReads does not use this data for advertising or cross-app tracking.

D. Content Stored by WorkReads

WorkReads stores:

AI-generated Intelligence Brief summaries

Associated metadata (title, author, tags, source link)

WorkReads does not store or redistribute full third-party articles as a substitute for the original source.

Users are provided with a direct external link to read the full article from the original publisher.

E. Technical & Security Information

All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted in transit using secure protocols.

WorkReads does not use advertising identifiers and does not track users across third-party apps or websites.

2. How We Use Information

We use collected information to:

Provide core app functionality

Authenticate users and manage accounts

Rank content using Quality, Relevance, and Freshness signals

Personalize your feed

Improve product performance

Generate Intelligence Brief summaries

Respond to support requests

Protect the integrity and security of the platform

WorkReads does not use personal data for advertising.

3. Artificial Intelligence Usage

WorkReads uses third-party AI services (such as Google Gemini) to:

Generate structured Intelligence Brief summaries

Improve content clarity

Support relevance modeling

When AI services are used:

Publicly available content text and contextual metadata may be processed

Personal identity information (such as email address or profile data) is not transmitted to AI providers for summarization

AI providers do not receive full account profiles

WorkReads does not sell data and does not use personal data to train public AI models.

AI-generated content is provided for informational purposes only.

4. Infrastructure & Service Providers

WorkReads uses trusted service providers to operate the application, including:

Supabase – secure database and backend infrastructure

Expo – mobile app infrastructure and deployment

Google Gemini – content summarization services

These providers process data only as necessary to deliver core app functionality.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell personal data.

We may share limited information only:

With infrastructure providers necessary to operate the app

When required by law or valid legal process

To protect user safety or platform integrity

WorkReads does not share data for advertising purposes.

6. Data Retention & Account Deletion

We retain data:

For as long as your account remains active

As necessary to provide functionality

As required to comply with legal obligations

Deleting Your Account

Users may permanently delete their account and associated data at any time directly within the app:

Profile → Delete Account

Upon deletion, the following data is permanently removed:

Email address

Account credentials

Saved articles

Ratings and interaction signals

Reading activity data

Private notes

We do not retain personal data after account deletion, except where retention is required for legal or compliance purposes.
